Staff Headshot Photography
Recently Daryl Gordon Photography was contacted by Beel Electrical who were looking for a professional photographer to photograph their staff.
“Daryl we are a family owned and run business we would like the photographs to portray the fact that we are a family run business living and working on the Mornington Peninsula. We would like to use a couple of the photographs to send out as Christmas cards to our existing customers, we would also like to get some staff shots as well
PRE SHOOT
Sandra from Beel electrical was our point of contact, through Sandra it was decided to meet up at a car park along safety beach. It was to be an early morning shoot for two reasons.
Firstly. The light is softer and cleaner in the morning so it gives us the best opportunity to capture beautiful images.
Secondly. As the name suggest we were shooting trades people who had clients to service.
It was decided to meet up at a car park at 7:30am.
I then ran through a check list for Sandra to make sure they have the best opportunity to get fabulous images.
Everyone should be neat and clean
Ironed clean stain free clothing
Cars should be washed
All of the above sound obvious, however it’s the little things that don’t actually get communicated to staff members that can leave everyone scratching their heads, Photoshop can only do so much, if your shirt is old, faded and stained well you get the picture…
THE SHOOT
Our photographer arrived around 15 minutes prior to the arranged time in order to meet with Sandra and greet everyone to be ready for the appointed time, Our professional photographers have many years of experience photographing people this is where all of that experience is put into practice, we didn’t have a lot of time with each person so it is crucial to be able to connect and engage quickly with the subject to get the best out of them for their individual headshot and group shots, Feed back from all of our clients usually have the words “fun” and “relaxed” sprinkled through there comments.
Post Production
Our professional photographers always take multiple shots of all clients and leave plenty of room for images to be cropped when we are creating corporate headshots, this gives our clients a large range of images to choose from. Typically we would shoot images where the client has a big smile, and a more serious business like look this way they can be used across a range of marketing. Our clients always end up with natural looking professional head shots. The exposure is alway tweaked to make sure the viewers eye goes to the face, any small blemishes are removed, and skin tones subtlety softened, dust and fluff can pop up on shirts and jackets these are also removed in post production, this is the level of detail that you’ll get from Daryl Gordon Photography.
Delivery
Is via drop box within a week of the shoot, Files are separated into
1 High resolution print ready files
2 Low resolution email/web ready files
This is usual practice with all of our client’s files it just take a level of stress and complication out for our clients. They instantly know which folder to get which images from depending on their marketing needs.
Image’s uploaded to drop box are easily downloaded to your desktop and can be shared with other team members who may require them
Back up
All images are kept on our drop box account free of charge for 12 months. This makes it easy to share image files with third parties or provides added security in case your back-up fails.
In conclusion
An hour or so of professional photography will give you a wide range of images for you to use across all of your marketing material,

Remember what you are paying for is the years of experience that all of our photographers have, it’s this experience which will bring out the best in you and your team, after all anyone can take a photo, however not everyone can organise, connect, and capture each persons character in a short amount of time.
