Making Photographs into Artwork

Here at Daryl Gordon Photography I love transforming photographs into works of art. It’s all part of my passion and the reason I was drawn to photography, firstly as a hobby and then as a career.

The process always starts with a strong image followed by the application of different post-production techniques. It’s amazing how powerful these images become – they not only change the look of a photograph, they enhance the mood of the original image. You are commissioning family photographs because you want to capture unique moments that will become physical and emotional reminders of your lives together.

Each photograph that either you or I choose is worked on individually to create a one-off artistic interpretation of that original photograph.

Invariably I see photographs that I know will look beautiful as pieces of art. Sometimes I have a clear vision of how the photograph will turn out; other times I will be surprised and overjoyed by where the creative process has taken me.

Below are some artistic interpretations of my original photographs. I’ve given them style numbers as a reference.
