Mum and Dad circa 1984
Those that know me or follow me on social media will know by now that I have recently lost my father, I lost my mother way back in 1985, life is and has been a journey I found this photo that I’d taken way back in 1984 it’s not the sharpest, however I can still smell the forest that we were visiting, the sounds of the birds and the wind rustling through the tops of the trees. This image is quite poignant for me as mum and dad were visiting me in Victoria, they had come down to tell me the dreadful news that mum had melanoma.. I knew at the time it was a special photo and that it would give me memories for a life time. That is my “why” for my photography it’s what gets me up. Life is fleeting.. photography captures those memories forever.
