As the sun gets lower in the sky melbourne is bathed in wonderful soft winter light. This light has a coolness about it and lacks the normal harsh uv that washes out colours. Instead it brings colours to life and creates a pastel like setting. This is a wonderful time to to get fabulous outdoor family portrait photography. As the light is soft all day you can get shots done any time of day, this isn’t the case during summer where I recommend portraits are done early morning or around sunset. Winter also brings out the drama in the sky that can help to add another wonderful layer to a family portrait.
